I am a very young 40, and loving it!!!!
Dad used to take me to watch racing when I was a kid in the UK - grew up watching Barry Sheene and Mick Grant. Dad used to own a Triumph Bonneville but sold it when he and mum started a family (I don't think he's ever really forgiven me :spank: ) Met my husband when I was 17 and he too had the bike bug - perfect match. Started riding at 28 - had a beautiful Kawasaki Z250. Got busy and didn't ride it much - sold it.
Watched my husband go through 2 x Kawasaki ZX6, Honda SP1, Triumph Daytona 675, Yamaha XJR1300 - got sick of being a pillion and sat my Learners permit (in Western Australia you have to have a 250cc licence for 12 months RE class, then you can sit your R class - any capacity motorbike) and started riding our Yamaha DT175.
When I outrode this, my husband bought me a Honda CBF250 for Xmas last year.
As soon as I passed my RE class, I couldn't wait to get something with a little more power. Saw the FZ6 at the local Yamaha dealership when I was getting lessons - love at first sight - went back and she was still there. Bought her on the spot.
In June I sit my R class which means I can ride my baby without a bright yellow L plate on and without a shadow. I can't wait.
Our family has increased since then - 09 Triumph Speed Triple. Maybe one day he will let me ride her.....
