i got my 06 2years ago with 68xx km now its at 11200km. maintenance wise i did brake fluid change, coolant change, and oil and filter (twice) and a set of new metzelers, so maintenace wise the fazers arent very costly i did the fluid and oil changes so as to start a fresh new service history.. stock tires were quite ok thread wise i just fancied a change for stickier rubber.

I sold my '05 last year, with 25K miles on it. It's EASILY capable of 50K miles with routine maintenance, and responsible behavior.

i've got an 05 with 31k miles on it - runs fine - bought in December with 24k and have changed fork oil, engine oil and filter, HH brake pads all round and head bearing (tapered) plus adjusted TPS as this was installed incorrectly before I bought bike (was getting 28MPG UK Gallons)
Have had no trouble so just maintenance really not got any complaints

Mine's an '06 and bought brand new in April of '07, so just few months over 3 years.

43,700 miles

Spark Plugs: on 2nd set, inserted Iridium at 20,000 miles
Air Filter: Inserted K & N at 15,000 miles
Replaced Chain & both Sprocket: 30,000 miles
Replaced Front springs & oil at 30,000 miles
Replaced headlamp bulbs, & license plate light: more than once
Brake Light: Still original bulbs
Brake pads: Still on original pads
Brake fluid: Still original front & back.
Cables (brake, clutch, throttle) still original
Valve adjustment: None
Tires: Currently on 3rd set.
Oil & Filter: changed every 3-3500 miles.
Battery: Replaced after two years, left power on and would no longer hold charge.

Yeah, I seem to stretch things out a bit.

Only issue: Replaced Steering Head Bearings, very common problem with all FZ6's. Upgraded to All Balls.

I have a 2005 with 8400kms on it now. I have replaced the OEM tires and I had to replace the steering head bearings (with All Balls). I added a K&N air filter, and have changed the oil as required (per the users manual).

Hi, my 2005 FZ6 just turn to 31k miles and I feel it like the day I bought it, it doesn't burn any oil (I use Motul 10w-40 Synth only) and I am pretty sure that if you follow the recommended maintenance by the book , you can easily get more than 60k, my advise is.. Don't drive it hard!
