Sorry.. not carrying my camera with me, as it sucks to ride with it over my shoulder and my phone is useless at taking pictures, so I'll use stock photos.

GSXS 750:

Fantastic bike. Smooth trans.. and controls work well.. suspension feels OK. Much better fueling than FZ bikes. Motor is strong, but FZ09 does pull harder from lower RPM. GSX pulls harder at higher RPM.. but all in all torque curve feels fairly flat.. perhaps slightly rising, but not terribly peaky.

It feels much less like a hooligan (FZ09) bike. For anyone considering FZ09, it would be wise to test-ride this one too.

What can I say? 3rd year in a row demo'ing this bike. 3rd year in a row I think this is the best road bike for longer rides. Would certainly like a 2nd, fun bike in addition to the FJR (like GSXS 750) for shorter, back country rides, but for everything else? Give me the FJR.. it's so very very good. Smooth, powerful, has all the good toys (electronic cruise, heated grips).

Versys 1k:

Outstanding bike. Greatly exceeded my expectations. Strong, smooth motor, smooth transmission, excellent ergonomics. So good in fact, it's in my top 3 "would like to own" list.

VStrom 1k:

Rode this bike last year and loved it. This time, I rode it right after I rode Versys 1k, so it gave me a slightly different perspective. The 2 bikes in question are very similar, ergonomics-wise. While I love VStrom's low end torque, it does drop off once the RPM's climb. Versys has enough low end, but also keeps pulling harder and harder as the RPMs climb.
Still love the VStrom, but not I'm not sure I'd get one over Verys.
