Greetings all! Just picked up my brand new (yes, new) shiny red 2006 FZ6 last week. This is my second bike (first was SV650S) and I'm loving it! Still a bit cool here in Vancouver, but the bike's insured, and on the road any day that it's not raining... Looking forward to taking it on a big trip to Las Vegas, San Diego, and back up the coast at the end of April!

Happy riding all!

Gratz on the new FZ6! How do you like it compared to SV650?
- That was the bike I was about to get, before trying out the FZ6.

The SV650 was the bike my buddy could have sold to me but he change his mind. I did ride it several times on long and short trips with him prior to getting my FZ6. I definitely appreciated the wider friction zone on the SV. Did not care much about the riding position. Besides the SV looks small on me, I look like an overgrown man on that little thing. Took my first spill on the SV as well, thank goodness for frame sliders or else I would have bought that bike. Ouch.:D

how much did you pay for a brand new 06? there is one in here at the local dealership , they are asking $7000 ..that sounded a lot to me,i paid $6000 for my 07 with only 1500 miles on it..this is canadian dollars of course,,,not that it matters anymore :)

I really liked my SV650S... but decided I wanted something a little more ergonomic for longer trips. I've been wanting an FZ6 for a couple of years now, and just couldn't resist a great deal on a "new" 2006. The seating position on the SV made my arms and legs numb pretty quick (I'm fairly tall). Also, I love the sound and feel of the in-line 4 versus the V-twin - strictly personal preference!

The dealership here was asking $6799. - As it turned out, there was a small dent in the top of the gas tank that they didn't know about, so I got them to knock another $500. off... Can't really beat it for a brand new bike
