I can't figure out how it works.

When I log in it says that I have five Rep points.
If I go to my user control panel it says I have sixty-three rep points which were submitted by a total of five people.

If I look at my posts I have one or two rep points.

I couldn't find an explanation of the system in the FAQ. Can anyone shed some light on how this system works?

Okay I got it figured out

Your User CP shows your total reputation points. And your Login shows your reputation POWER.... more points means higher rep power... Rep power is a ratio that represents good and bad rep points received....

Hope that clears it up a little

Thanks boss, that clears things up.
I'd also been wondering why the rep power beside my name in a post would vary all the time. I think I figured that one out. It shows how much rep you've earned in a particular section of the forum. So you can have one rep in The Bar and another in Mechanical. That way people can tell that you're a funny guy but don't know jack about engines.

On the home page it says my Rep POWER is 15 w/ two green squares

In this thread it says my Rep POWER is 9 w/ two green squares

EDIT - Fred's explanation for this is correct?

EDIT2 - My first post in this thread reads 9 while this one reads 15...what gives?

EDIT3 - now this one reads nine too...WTF?

Admin's Rep POWER in this thread reads 10 but he has 11 green squares

My User CP says I have 104 total rep POINTS

I've given lots of rep to other people but I see no record of it
