New tires question

I recently bought a new set of Conti Motion tires for my 2009 FZ6.
The tires are mounted correctly with the rotation arrows on the sidewalls in the correct direction.
I noticed that the sipping on the rear tire run one way but the sipping on the front tire runs in the opposite direction.
The front sipping looks backwards to me but it must be right since the arrow is in the correct direction.
Anyone notice this? Why is the direction of the sipping different front to rear?
Just wondering. I like the tires so far.

Yes - i have noticed on my Michelins Pilot/Power3 (would highly recommend as a perfect all-rounder in case the Contis dont work for you) the tread pattern on the front looks like it is backwards. But the arrow confirms they are correct and ive ridden them across wet road at high speed and am certain they are doing their job.

rear tires are for accelerating, front tires are for decelerating... sipped accordingly.
