MotoGP has lost one of its brightest lights after a horrific crash in the second lap of the Malaysian GP :( Rip Marco! You will be forever missed :(

Very very tragic.

Marco Simoncelli has died in a terrible accident a few hours ago. There was nothing the following riders could do. He lost the front & went down, front tyre gripped again & dragged him back onto the racing line.

RIP Super Sic

Sad sad day. What happened is unreal and truly truly terrible :( My thoughts go out to Marco's family and friends. Rip Crazy Sic! :(

Re: Marco Simoncelli has passed away

^^ I was really wondering whether I should post it or not. Thanks for the second opinion. I took it off.

Also admins, feel free to delete/merge this thread to Disco's. We don't need 2 threads about this.

That is about the worst news too wake up too.

Today the world lost a great racer with even greater potential....

Just saw the crash on Youtube, absolutely horrible to watch, seeing that helmet rolling across the ground...

RIP Marco Simoncelli. A talented rider with cojones bigger than any rider in the MotoGP. A true spirited youngblood rider who'll be sorely missed.
Thoughts are with Marco's family, friends and teammates. Go #58!

A truly sad day in motorcycling history.

I am devastated. I can't believe it. Can't stop crying right now.

MotoGP has lost one of it's great personalities. Sideshow Bob.

You'll be greatly missed.

RIP Marco.

My thoughts are with Marcos family, team, Edwards, Rossi and Gressini. Gressini lost Kato too.

Just woke up and saw this also. God bless his family, friends and team with the comfort and peace only He can provide. May God comfort Colin and Valentino also as there was nothing they could but I can only imagine how both of them feel now.

RIP Marco

I was in the pub watching the rugby world cup final, the race was being recorded on my PVR. Someone came and gave me the news and that was my interest in the rugby gone.

I was sitting staring blankly at the screen with all sorts of scenarios going through my head.

We went home straight after the match and I watched the recording of the race, including all the pre-race grid footage with this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach, knowing what was going to happen.

None of the scenarios in my head was close to the reality. It happened so fast, Colin and Vale could do nothing. When I saw that helmet rolling across the grass I was horrified.

RIP Marco, you were a real character and will be sorely missed.
