woke up this morning to find both headlights not working. bulbs and fuses look fine. anyone had this problem? 
suddenly no headlights

Well first :welcome:to the FZ6 forum!
There is a section on the site that has service and owners manuals. I used to do auto electrical so I'll go take a peek and see if I can find something. I'm going to guess there is a relay that could have failed, But let me check and make sure. Also we are looking possibly at the the signal that operates the relay. Lights come on when the engine is running. If the engine is running and you hit the kill switch the motor stops bu the lights stay on a long as the ignition is active so there may be some logic circuit involved. Thinking about how you turn the ignition on but no headlight and when the engine runs the headlight comes on, I think a circuit gets a signal from the charging system. ....

Is there 12V at the headlight plug when you turn it on?

How are the other lights? Running lamps on front turn signals, tail light, etc.

Probably a bad or stuck headlight relay.

Not to sound like a jerk, but have you tried starting it?
The lights won't come on when you first turn the key, but they'll come on when you start it, then stay on when you shut it off as long as the key isn't turned all the way off.
Wouldn't be the first time someone thought their headlights were out when they just turned the key on.
