Austin hit 105 today!!! Hotter than Phoenix or Vegas, ugh, and its only June. Usually this is August or early September weather. 100's through the weekend and of course I have my National Guard drill and where will I be??? In the motorpool working on vehicles and packing up our giant DRASH tent for Egypt this Fall. Nice....

I know this heat sucks to be sitting on a bike with all that gear on. But hey from one vet to another thanks for serving. Remember we are Soldiers, we don't get tired, hungry, cold or hot.

Here's a big THANKS to ALL of you who are serving or have served. It's not said often enough, so let's get a hoo-rah (sp?) for each degree above zero for all those out there working their tails off in the heat to keep the rest of us safe!

Sincerely,
Cooper

38 at home today.... cloudy and snow in the mountains.

I'm personally at work, on location at the top of Alaska right now. Ambient temp is 34, 20mph wind.... with wind chill 10 deg F.

Lovely.

EDIT: I'm getting home next Thurs, and its supposed to be in the 70's. Sweet!

I'll trade ya! You can have our high humidity 90 deg and I'll take the dry heat 100 deg. Isn't this weather rediculous?? Good pool weather though!! ;)

Have you tried those special cooling vests? The vest is made of a "special" water crystal material. You basically soak the vest in cold water up to 25 minutes prior to the ride or outdoor activity. The vest underneath your riding jacket creates an evaporative effect and can reduce you core body temperature.

The other alternative is to wear a long white tunic and turban like the Arabs but that might look a bit strange on the base.

Enjoy those 70 degree days! We are near 100 here in St Louis, with humidity the heat index is 105-110. I guess I am a wuss, but it's just too hot to gear up and ride. (No gear = no ride for me.) :(

mm just realised

i and i would say most of the aus population ride in your 113F weather regulary

down to a 41f or lower days wind rain hail etc

i hereby pronuce you guys as soft****s

trade you... it just hit 48 degrees C (118 F) and it is only the end of June :spank:

It's hit 100 just about everyday for the past week or so here in Houston. The humidity has been in the 40's though which makes it a little more bearable.

Usually this time of year the temps are in the upper 80's with the humidity in the 90's.

It was 75 degrees for the last two weeks in Virginia's blue ridge mountains.

Now I'm back in Austin and it's hot again.

Bleah.

LOL!
Our summer was one of the hottest, not only did we have prolonged temperatures over 40deg C, we also had record breaking temperatures, locally reaching 49deg. I was working out in it, on a forklift, I didn't get away from that heat.
