After 36000 km/22300 mi (the bike has a total of 76000 km/47200 mi) the OEM chain gave out, this pic was taken after cleaning and trying to get the link to unbind. Since there are a couple of other links whose mobility I'm not happy with either, a new set is going in.

Maintenance; Spotty at best :D
Lube; Valvoline white synthetic
Cleaning agents; Petroleum and toothbrush

I parked Crisis Nov 4 2019 and today I turned the key (2020-04-10) and just like always, 1 second later she purrs to life.

I'm writing ad this is her most neglected year ever. The oil should have been changed last year when parked, she received no fuel stabilizer but was filled full and sat garaged for 6 months with NO Battery Tender and started right up!

Nice weather here, hope to ride her soon!
Good bikes these little Fizzers!

Got it all done. Some observations:
- There is NOTHING BETTER than new tires!
- The throttle tamer (with the -10% cam) does a nice job of taming the off-idle jumpiness
- The Fumoto oil drain looks like it is going to be a real time saver
- My timing chain was stretched and off 1/2 tooth. Tight chain and proper timing upped the performance (duh!)

She is 15 years old with 64k miles and STILL runs like a champ.

New clutch cable in, the old one did ~38000km/23000 miles, no fraying as far as I can tell but couldn't get a smooth clutch lever action any more.

The first 90% of its lifetime it was lubed with silicone spray pushed with one of those tiny cable lube tools
Last 10% with motor oil by a syringe

I was NOT happy with the way the middle of the cable looked when I unscrewed it apart, my guess is sticky silicone spray contributed to most of the grime that got in.

The new cable is currently without any lube, I plan to keep it like that for a while but if I go back to lubing the silicone spray is out of the picture.

I'd cut one end off the old cable and pull it out to examine for any fraying.

When I replaced mine, I couldn't see any fraying but it was getting difficult to move:

I put the new license plate on and found a container to hold the registration & insurance card, under the seat.
Motorcycle Safety Course tomorrow and Sunday, well the classroom portions, via Zoom, anyways. Have to wait for the world to be turned back on, before the physical portions can be competed.rps20200501_190834.jpg

Had the best intention to perform a post mortem on the cable, but the spare parts hoarder in me just couldn't do it so it ended up on the "just in case, you never know" shelf.

That shelf also contains an old clutch cable from my previous bike and some parts for a car (both sold), but, you never know... :D

For the PIA it is to replace, (and not knowing if the innerds are frayed), I'd pick up a spare cable and hoard that (I just ordered a spare and have that collecting dust till I need it).

I certainly wouldn't re-install a cable (or save it) with questionable operation..

Just my 2cts, but I'd be curious to see the failure.. :)

Fixed the hub for the rear wheel. The nuts had been overtightened at some point, stripping the threads on two of them. The bolts faired better, so I re-threaded all of them. They came out good so I'll be grabbing new nuts for all of them at the hardware store today and putting it back together and on the bike.

Rear sprocket back on the hub, and flipped for longevity. Then put the rear wheel back on, flipped the front sprocket, and mounted a new drive chain.

Can't wait to get the motor sorted so I can take this thing for a proper ride.
