What kind of frame sliders do you have/recommend?

After talking with everyone on the NH ride I decided I oughta get some frame sliders. I have been looking at Motovation but what's the deal with the mushroom looking Spiegler LSL sliders? (Spiegler LSL Frame Sliders)
Do they protect just as well or what? Also, I see you can get fork and axle sliders, anyone have them?

I just put on my motivation frame sliders the other day quick and easy look good and hopefully get the job done :thumbup: and on the subject of fork and axle, I've read that most people don't put fork sliders on maybe not much use

Can't comment on the fork or axle sliders but I have FS6 sliders on mine ,haven't had to test them out yet ,hopefully never will :thumbup:

Motovation makes great sliders, I like.

I really like the Rotella T sliders. They just glide along the pavement like they are on oil or something. Incredible!

I've got Shogun sliders. Not expensive and they seem like good quality.

I have the Shogun sliders but do not recommend them. They seem to be too short on both sides to protect a lot. I'm going to pitch for the Motivation sliders next spring unless I find something better. These are probably tough enough but I just think there would be too much damge in the event of a lowside at this point. I'm comparing this to my old '05 ride (Pondrat, a.k.a. Michael) who has the Uncaged sliders which I feel are superior. My issue with them is availability in black/black and the fact that the black aluminum fades to purple (see Tom's sliders). Perhaps buying them with the black pucks and having the aluminum powder-coated is a good option too!

I first bought some ****ty eBay frame sliders.

Then I went with Motovation frame sliders.

I got a set of the cheap CF look Ebay sliders "oldtimer" mentioned above. They work fine for me low sided over the weekend about 25mph up in the mountains and slider did it's job saving me about $1000 or so in damage at my best guess. I know they don't have the steel inserts and such but that's what I like about them. I have seen way to many FZ's with the frame horn wripped off by a tougher than nails slider. Mine only slid a few feet on the road before hitting gravel and when it did the slider buried in. Instead of possibly breaking the frame horn the slider gave way about 3 inches bending the bolt but doing no actual damage to the bike. Got home pulled the slider back close to straight as I could and just unscrewed it and ordered a replacement set. I bought my sliders to save my bike from crashes of this exact instance and it did the job flawlessly.

I have Oggy Knob Frame Sliders, very sturdy construction. Have not had the misfortune to test them yet...and i dont want to either!

i spent 25 bucks shipped to my door, for my T rex sliders. off ebay. cheapest i have seen.

I have GYT-R sliders made from Dupont Delrin,but havent had to test them.:thumbup:

when installing these sliders on the frame what torque setting do you use?

I've extended ebay frame sliders and motovation swingarm sliders. Not much use for fork sliders though. Frame + Swingarm will keep all your bike parts in the air in a low speed fall.

if you are looking at doing sliders i would go with a reputable brand, they are there for a reason and there are huge consequences if they fail when they are needed.

When i put mine on i check the torque they were at and it was just under 35 pounds but i remember seeing that most people have been doing 40 pounds which when i did it seemed just right nice and snug :thumbup:
