I feel you I'm going to mount it directly to the frame. Or at least that's what I'm planning to do. I yet have to purchase the light but I am 99.9991% sure that's the light I will be using..

I saw a picture today, made me think of this. The person took a bottom mount light, flip it so the bracket was uptop and mounted to the top triple tree. Looked slick.
