friend of mine bought one of these for his Versys, and although it looks
goofy, it's real comfortable...so I bought one as well....arrived today,
put it on and went for a ride for an hour or so....this item works really
well at distributing your body weight evenly over the entire area of your butt,
the interconnected air-cells do the magic, it takes out the buzz, and the
heat...will post up in a few days after a longer trip, but so far I'm really
liking it a lot...one negative though is that you probably don't want it on
when doing any aggressive, technical riding....it does give you a bit of a
disconnected feeling from the seat...but it comes off and back on really quick
so it's not a huge deal....$130 from: AIRHAWK Medium Cruiser Seat Cushion

I use mine on large trips, it works wonders! Feels like I'm riding on a cloud. I got mine from Craigslist for $50 shipped from Arizona. Size cruiser medium.

They have a cheaper version called the Airhawk2.

I tried this and it kept crushing my nuts. I reduced the amount of air in the cushion, but then it wasn't comfy.

I plan on retuning in soon under their 60 day money back guarantee.
Nice that they have that.

Many people like the Airhawk. My friend that I went to Alaska with loved his.

With the money back guarantee, you don't have much to lose.

yeah I tried the AH 2 at the bike show, the air bag material is less
pliant, scrunchy..didn't like it at all...the nomenclature is confusing,
normally a 2 version of something is newer, better...in this case it's
inferior, cheaper...and not just in price

the longer term review unfortunately is not kind to this product,
little trip with the boys this weekend, not a biggie, about 700 km,
and the Air Hawk cushion was removed, to much relief, for the last
200....while my butt was thoroughly enjoying riding on a cushion of
air, the rest of my body did not like it...the raised seating position
put more weight on my upper body, and increased the noise level
over my wonderful Cee Bailey screen, the cushion exaggerated the
stock seat's tendencies to funnel me into the gas tank, and this
resulted in some crowding of the boys as noted by OMGWTF....
and the disconnected feeling is awful for navigating twisties
and sweepers, it felt like I was muscling the bike around corners
with my upper body, rather than controlling the bike with my whole
body ...so anyway, I removed the thing and finished the trip tot the
delight of my arms and shoulders and unmentionables..too bad

and for the 2 members with little imagination, ie: unable to visualize
this product that I gave you a video about, mounted on a motorcycle
that you yourself own, utilizing a fantastic new technology named
google, I located in 2 seconds a pic of an FZ6 with an Air Hawk cushion

if you have nothing to contribute but snide remarks and other troll behavior,
step back from the keyboard dude, or ply your trade elsewhere

Haha!!
It hurt your raisins too!!
Well, try reducing the amount of air in the cushion and moving it further back.
Like I said, some people love it, like my buddy who I did a 5-week, 12,000 mile trip with.
It's worth trying out before spending the big bucks on a whole new seat.
The money back guarantee is great.
I just shipped mine, hopefully I'll get my money back. :D

Another downside is that it's harder to slide around in it.
But I've seen my buddy haul ass with his Airhawk on, so I dunno.....
I tried and I wanted to like it. Seats and windscreens are very personal things.....

Also, the only significant difference between the Airhawk and Airhawk2 is the extra money in your pocket.

Glad you tested it and posted back your results.

I warned you!!! :BLAA:
(Kinda).

Thanks for the writeup on the cushion.

To the last part, don't get so bent out of shape. When you post a product review people are going to have questions and want to see pictures, that's just how it works.

isn't sinde at all....

The Dude simply requested some pics - a quite reasonable request and I'm not sure why you took such offense to it. Considering the Airhawk seats are listed as 'Cruiser' sizes and the FZ6 is not a 'cruiser', people would naturally want to see the size and shape of how it fits/forms on the FZ6 seat. It has nothing to do with 'imagination' and everything to do with information. I personally don't want to have to "imagine" how something is going to fit if someone can provide a picture of it on my actual bike (not a generic seat pic). I, like many others here, like to find out as much information as possible before shelling out hard earned money on something.

I don't consider anything The Dude has said to be "troll behavior" either.

We all appreciate the info, links, pics, video and reviews/feedback on this product and I think we can all do without the attitude. Nuff said on this.

I have also purchased the Airhawk small cruiser cushion. It was a 40 minute ride to pick up my cushion. After 40 minutes I start to quirm on the stock seat and it is hot. I put the Airhawk on the bike and rode back 40 minutes. It was a huge difference and I could have kept riding. An added bonus was the increased leg room. There was too much air put in by the dealer and I also experienced front crowding. The next day I took off for another evaluation. This time a had the proper amount of air in cushion. The weather was 86 degrees and sunny. I rode for one hour and twenty minutes before I starting feeling as I previously did after 40 minutes. It was much cooler also. The temp was 88 by the time I got back. I probably wouldnt keep it on for twisty riding but for me I ride 8 to 9 thousand miles a year so the cushioning is nice. There was added pressure on my wrists so I added 30mm SW Motech bar risers and this is a much better set up. My hand doesnt get numb at all now for most rides.

No wonder your rep is so high OMG; you have good things to say, your never negative, and very knowlageable opinions abound in your posts.

The Airhawk is a option that a lot of people have used and enjoyed, but they are not for everyone. I think they are aimed at more of the cruiser bikes or the Iron Butt maniacs ;).

I myself have been looking at the Top Saddlery seats and probably will pull the trigger on a super comfy saddle very soon.
