I've been meaning to do this mod. I don't mind splicing/soldering. Every time I look up the process is get discouraged because the posts are so old and do not have pictures. I'd prefer to have the method that disables the lo-beam filament when I put on the high beam.

From what I can tell, connect this "empty" terminal to the "empty" top terminal of the right headlight plug right? Here is one post that looks promising: https://www.sportbikes.net/forums/fz6-fz6r-mods/297604-dual-headlight-mod-without-splicing.html

This guy is tapping into an existing green wire, I have a feeling this may not be the right way:

See my post #9. https://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-mods/57092-dual-headlights.html#post627614

Edit: just checked out that video. Yes, its the same as the way my bike was done. The green wire at the left handlebar runs back under the tank to a connector, then the bd43 harness plugs into the connector. Same end result, just the bd43 method is a little "cleaner"

When I removed my HIDs and went back to this, I added a switch like this on the inner fairing, so I could shut if off if I was using heated gear.

Thanks for the info. The BD43 mod connectes to that terminal photoed in the first post vs splicing into the handle bar cable right? That is the only difference?
