Right, so I'm officially moved to Northglenn Colorado! (Hooray!!!)

Before I left, I sold my poor FZ6 to a good friend's dad. She'll get taken care of for sure.

I thought when I got here I'd scrap the idea of having a bike, and get a sports car instead! I test rode a 2012 WRX Hatch and LOVED it. the turbo pulls so hard! But the idea of signing away $600/mo for 6 years THE DAY AFTER I moved sounded like a bad idea. So I decided I'd just play it as is. To cope with this I took a little drive around boulder and found my way to canyon road. It's amazing... awe inspiring. TWISTY and fun! The whole time I thought "I wish I were on a bike..."

So today I did a little shopping and was going to look at (and probably buy) a 2007 KTM Super Duke 990 for about $7500 but it sold 10 minutes before I got there.

So I got this:

Her name is Ruby and she is SEXY. And SHE RIDES SO HARD OMG.

I loved the test ride so much I just bought her there and then. Being delivered tomorrow!

Cannot WAIT.

Congrats on the new bike!

Sportbiketrackgear is giving away an FZ-09 at the end of the year but they are doing upgrades on the bike throughout the year. Be sure to check them out, it could be helpful. They've done two exhaust installs on it already. SportBikeTrackGear FZ-09 Giveaway

And She needs a soundtrack:

Nice, you sure know how to welcome yourself to the neighborhood.

congrats on the new bike. i always get a fuzzy (read nice) feeling when someone posts a new ride. and i wish you luck to settle in fast, altough you seem to have settled already!

i know its a great machine (all reviews i read rave about it) but the looks dont do it for me. i may grow to like it if i see more pics of it:D

I feel like anytime someone on here says something like this...

So I got this:

...and I see a pic of the FZ-09, my hearts skips a beat. Man, those bikes are purty. Maybe in a couple of years I'll let myself test drive one...because I'm pretty sure what'll happen after that. :spank:

 :cheer: Congratulations! :cheer:

Great bike. Will be my next sport bike.

In for updates on how it rides compared to the FZ6!

Congratulations and welcome to the FZ-09 Club!

Be sure to check out the fz09.org forum; great group of people there (Still second best to the FZ6 forum though!)

SECOND UPDATE TIME!!!

Right, so after some awesome paperworking, the bike got delivered at 2 pm today! (Woot woot!) This meant that I took it out promptly for a 110 mile ride, since I have this week off.

Let me preface this by saying I'm doing an easy break in. I'm not sure if it's needed, but yeah... I'm trying to stay below 5-6k rpms. Honestly, it's easy. Here's why:

THE FREAKING LOW END TORQUE IS INSANE.

No joke, this pulls harder than the fz6 EVERYWHERE. Yes, Erci, I know I need to do the suspension mods.. but those can wait for a bit. It's honestly a ready to go, out of the box, FUN bike. More fun than my FZ6. WAY more fun than my fz6.

My problem with the fizzer6 was that you have to wind it up to get the kind of power you want... so you're constantly going around a couple gears down. Not so with the 09. I can cruise in 6th at 35 mph and still have plenty of power to get out of anything.

Also: Holy crap the brakes. They bite like an alligator... So strong, but really great feel to them!

top that off with a great muscular exhaust sound (aka not a sewing machine) and the FZ-09 is one fantastic bike. I'm not sure I'll actually get tired of this thing... ever.

So anyway, I took Ruby up to the mountains today. She did great! Loved it the whole time! So here's some pics:

More to come! Stay tuned!

(Oh, i signed up with the fz09 forums but haven't had much of a chance to browse them yet. :(

Congrates on the new bike!!!! I like the tank stripe too!

Let the farkling begin!!!

Just noticed, no centerstand?
Do they give a place (threaded holes) on the swingarm for bobbins (to use an aftermarket, swingarm/rear stand) for chain mantainance?

We all know it has more performance than the FZ6. After a nice 100+ mile ride, how does the comfort/ergonomics compare. I can't sell the FZ6 for another bike if it's less comfortable, too old for that crap.

With a new seat I actually think it would be great! I've put 210 miles in 2 days on it and toward the end of the days when I was on the highway my butt started getting a little sore (I don't have a lot of padding there haha.

New seat and maybe a touring windscreen. Or don't... you'll still be smiling!
