New member welcome thread..

That's an interesting contraption you have there - it is probably a much better machine on the street. I'm surprised that the EFI wasn't adapted as well.
Hahahah I couldn't compare it to the original as I've not ridden a proper R6 (this is my first 'bigger' bike, from a Suzuki GS500) but it's a very enjoyable experience on the street, I'm in love with it when I ride it. Yeah I'm not sure why either but it is what it is.

Hello!

My name is Saveliy, I live in Czech Republic.

After having my first bike, Suzuki GS500, for past 20k kilometers, I've made up my mind what I want to have next: a machine suitable for lots of road traveling and with some more power. And so here I am, with a 2005 FZ6, which I bought a couple of weeks ago.

For past weekends I've been wrenching the luggage rack. Originally the bike had Micron exhausts, but they had to go because they were obstructing the Givi luggage mounting brackets. Next I plan to install the engine guard.
I've made only a couple trips on the bike, but so far I'm very impressed by the engine, its huge range of usable torque and power. But also going at moderate pace feels very smooth and effortless. Cornering also feels great, the bike leans very easy.

In the future I hope to do some touring in nearby countries (:

Hello!
I'm from Sweden and don't actually own a motorcycle, but I have a formula style car with an engine from a FZ6 that I'm trying to restore. Hoping to get some good support with engine specific questions :)

That's a nice bike mate, have fun riding it.

Hello Everyone,

I live in India and have one of my country's rarest motorcycles: the Fazer 600 S2 ('08 model), which was Imported with many hassles a few years back. I build electric motorcycles for a living and love travelling far distances with decent comfort. Probably, I am late to this party, but I am very much in love with this motorcycle. I am absolutely relying on the experts here in this forum to keep her in good shape. Cheers!

Welcome to the forum Abiram, I'm glad you found us. In a land of small displacement motorcycles, I'm sure the FZ6 is quite a standout.
Thank you, Gary. Yes, India is bloated with 275Mn+ two-wheelers on the road, and around 85% of them are 100cc to 150cc singles. Additionally, the city I come from is infamous for its traffic, and riding an inline-4 600cc in such conditions requires nothing short of bravery. India officially started selling premium motorcycles way back in the 2000s, but it restricted anything less than 800cc to grow the indigenous brands. Because of this God know why reason, none of the 600ccc class ever came to our shore.

Hello from Manitoba, Canada.
Looking at the first post in this thread, in a bizarre twist of events, I also grew up in Fort Langley, B.C. :) So a special hello to @Admin .
I may be getting a bit ahead of myself, but am now owner of an '07 FZ6. I hope to be on it this season, but it may not be til 2026 season as I have to get it moved across the country.
My current ride is a 2006 YZF600R (Thundercat), but having been riding for a bit over 50 years, it's getting a bit cramped for me at my age. So I was looking for something a bit more upright, and with fuel injection as the 'Cat model was still carbureted. I thought the FZ6R would be a good match, but then started to see lots of complaints about power, and lots of attempts to bring them up to FZ6 spec., so thought I would go for the FZ6 instead. That will keep me in the same hp range as my current bike.
Waited it out watching the listings and got lucky with a blue '07 FZ6 with the aftermarket lower fairing and 20K kms.

Did a fair bit of reading on here as this particular FZ6 forum seems to have the most traffic and knowledgeable regulars. And it hasn't been gobbled up by that Toronto company that gobbles up all the forums and ... well, probably best if I don't start ranting in my first post.
Glad to be here and looking forward to being part of this community.

Thanks Gary. I wish I could do that trip but current commitments mean I can't get away for more than overnight. I have a few options for transport coming this way, but it will be at their convenience. Still more likely this year than next though.
I like your avatar, at first glance when I saw the dual round headlights, I though it might be one of these. :D
