Hey All!

I think I totally missed this step when I first joined about a few months ago, cause I got right into talking FZ6's!

I'm the youngest of 8 kids, 7 guys and 1 girl, born in the States to a Russian family. Just graduated early and moved from Western MA (because it's basically Sleepy Hollow) to Austin, TX because of family and career opportunities.

I'm a jack of all trades, master of none! Being the youngest of 8 lends itself to a severe disorder of getting my hands into absolutely everything that interests me, yet not having the time to be exceptional or expert in anything. I work sales at a star-up, IT for a church, and have two personal projects, including professional video production with my childhood friend and working with an amateur musician. I put myself through college, so 60hr work weeks are a good, old friend of mine!

The FZ6 is a bike that I wasn't crazy about initially, but one that I've come to love and sorely miss. Jay-walker ran me off the road recently, so though I have no prior mechanic experience, I'm pumped to rebuild my FZ6 into an FZ6N. You'll probably see lots of posts about this, because I also love learning from older, smarter, more experienced persons. My bike before this was a '06 Vulcan 500, which was an excellent starter bike and really just an awesome bike overall. It was low, comfy, dependable, and big enough to have fun on without worrying about new rider me killing myself on it.

If y'all have any questions, comments, or criticisms, feel free to just drop on in through a PM or some such. I love talking to new people, especially if we have common interests. If any of you have sick motorcycling skills, lets make a video!

Best,
Denis Z!

Hey everyone! Just found this Forum and read through some Threads, love it so far!
I´m a 21 years old rider from Germany and the FZ6-N is actually my first bike, been riding it for almost 2 years now and I´m still having the same awesome feeling on it as on the first day!
So this is my ride, it was silver when I bought it but after some time i didnt like the color and changed it to blue/black (still some silver on it, going to fix that soon):

I think many people dont like the color, but i love it! =)
(The yoshimura is of course kinda wanabe-like, but I really like their logo :p)

Hi,

My name is Ian, I'm from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland Australia. I pick up my 2005 FZ6S S1 12,000klms tomorrow. I was lucky to find a one owner stocker thats been looked after. This is my second Yamaha, my last ride was a faithful old Kawasaki ZR-7 that I put about 60,000klms on it. After reading this forum I was convinced that this old FZ was a bargain and should be as reliable as their reputation suggests.

I'll post some photos as soon as I work out how to upload and take a few after a good hard run up in the hills near here.

The information about mods and issues other FZ owners have experienced on this forum was very helpful in making the descsion to buy this bike. Thank you to all the contributors.

Welcome to the forum! I really like that color. I'm guessing that it's a custom color?

Hello. My name is Ray from Sunderland in the UK.

I've always had motor bikes from my school days including a Norton Navigator, a couple of small engined Hondas, a BSA 650 Lightning and a Fazer 600.

Today I bought my fifth bike,a 2011 FZ6 S2 Fazer to get back into biking. I'm retired from the NHS and gave up my previous 2002 Fazer 600 following a neck injury which was not motor cycling related. I sold that bike to my son who is still using it. My new bike means I can go out with my son and other friends exploring the Lake District, Scotland and Northumberland which is all quite beautiful. I really quite fancy going round the coast of the UK but that might be fanciful.

I am looking forward to contributing to the forum and discussing issues with others of a like mind.

Hi everyone ... I'm Chris, and I live on the mid north coast of beautiful NSW, Australia. (call it 4 hours N of Sydney)
I recently aquired a Galaxy Blue 05 FZ6S... and she's a beauty (13k Kilometres) and completely original except for a Ventura rack and a chain oiler (she even has the original Bridgestones on her... must get them replaced ... SOON)
I teach at primary schools and i have a gorgeous wife and some gorgeous kids.I am in my 50's now and have been on 2 wheels since i was 16...
i am a Honda man but i came across this Fizzer , an offer i couldn't refuse, and i can honestly say I couldn't be happier.
shes smooth, comfortable, quick and i get random guys just stopping to look at her when she's parked up...so she must look good too.

Hello everyone!...greetings from Florida! I finally found time to join this community since everytime I try to research on mods, it takes me to this site.
I got my 05 FZ6 a couple of years ago. My dream bike was a supersport bike but didn't have the budget for it. I couldn't pass up the dealers offer ($2500) for the bike with 9k miles.
Since then, the front has been lowered 1.5inches...went through FZ1 handle bar...clip-ons with 2" risers, 1.5" risers and finally regular clip-ons with 10degrees....Delkevics ( drilled, grounded, pounded, hammered to get it tucked in as far as I could,LOL).... added cheapo lower fairings...had the front cowl bracket extended and lowered 2"....Danmoto rearsets... shaved and flattened banana seat... sequential tail lights... and managed to ride the original tires right down to the belts!...now I got Angel GT's in the back and Rosso II's in front ( got talked out of cheap Shinkos, I'm glad I did!)...It had been an informative learning with this bike and like everybody "sounds" like in this community, This FZ6 takes my blues away!!!

Hello, Joe here. I'm from nowhere exotic, Northeast Ohio along the Lake Erie shoreline. I'm 54 years old, first streetbike. A late bloomer, I guess. The much faster red 2006. Stole it off Craigslist from an eager seller. Did have a flareup with the kill switch, but found a thread on here on how to take it apart and clean it....Bike is fantastic. Been eyeing an shaft drive Nighthawk........

Hi all,

Now that I discovered the intro thread it's nice to formally start feeling like a member by saying hi. :)

I got my bike in June and managed to clock up 5.5 kkm before putting it to winter sleep a week ago.
I fell for bikes in my late teen years back in the 90s but ironically only got my first big relatively recently although I have had 50cc scooters in the passed.
One of the main reasons I have somehow managed to keep clear of bikes is my passionate interest in the brand of Alfa Romeo which is pretty much almost a religion to me and have not felt like myself behind the wheel of any other make for 8 years and counting. But two-wheelers are a whole different league of course.
I'm a Motorcycle & Motorsport Engineer by education and currently work as a maint. specialist in the elevator field.

Anyways, happy to be here and look forward to getting to know you.

Howdy. I'm from CA and I a fairly recent rider, having bought an 09 FZ6 earlier this year. I commute school, work, and recreation and the fz6 is more than up to it. I'm not all that mechanically skilled, but I enjoy working on the bike, although sadly I've had to do more than planned. But this forum is great for that, so it's all good.
