Hello all, I'll keep checking in on this thread and try and maybe meet up for a blast. Sorted time off work now but need to talk ErInDoors around a little

It is a long way from God's country though :D

Martin, is this: Kipps Hostel Canterbury the hostel you are going to?
I think I'd like to ride along even if the weather's not that great. I realy want to go see the UK, and I don't have many friends riding bikes (can't seem to convince them, or they say they can't afford it right now :( )

Ok so I went from this..

to this:

and omg what a huge difference and improvement.
The fz1 is ok when doing a trackday, but regular roads, like speeding along the dikes,
the bmw wins on everything, comfort is perfect, handling is even better, and fun!
its amazing that a pretty big bike like that corners so much better than the fz1. I am realy looking forward to riding along the english country side with this amazing machine :)

I had a Vee-Strom and the handling was amazing, I think because of the super wide bars. And the way it leans over is so exaggerated because of the tallness of the bike, brilliant fun. I think it's easy to dismiss these kind of machines as being boring. That they are not, just different.

Nice bike Tim, although it surprises me that it corners better than an FZ1.
It looks like you'll have no problems with luggage either

Re: UK trip from continental Europe, September 9/10/11, 2011

thx :) yea when I had a test ride with the GS, I took a route along the dike from arnhem to Heteren, and after that I rode my fz1 the same route to compare.
The fz1 felt like a tiny but incredibly heavy bike. really had to push it into the corners, whereas the GS goes there like its on bolted on the road. :)

Well you would definately get a good idea of the cornering on the dikes. looking forward to seeing it in the "flesh"

Unfortunately it looks as if Davey won't be able to make it :( , with him being a teacher and this ride being at the start of the new term it makes it difficult for him to get the time off.
Of course everyone is welcome to come along
