Just a reminder about old, un-treated, E fuel...
This week from a customers 2005 Harley Wide Glide (with a CV40 carb) that came in for a carb clean / get running.
It'd run on starting fluid only..
Fuel was reportedly 1 year old, (Chinese knock off carb), un treated...
Besides the "Gelled" up goo, the low speed jet was clogged bad (not gel), as well as the accelerator
pump. My sonic cleaner couldn't get those open, manually had to get them opened up(carb cleaner)..
I did get it running as it should, a heavy beast, hadn't seen a garage in a LONG time..
But lots of torque and geared high... Customer was quite happy!
IE, don't leave old fuel (E fuel) in your bike for awhile, at least W/O being treated..
