2006 FZ1. Always wanted one and couldn't pass this up for the price and condition. It only has 1,200 miles and is unmolested. Still have the FZ6 but it'll be up for sale in about a months time.

Nice!

I fully enjoyed my '06. Have fun and be careful with 'er.

If you're a mod guy:
1) New tires
2) Slip on or full exhaust
3) Flash the ECU
4) Rear shock
5) R1 Forks and Brakes

You'll be very happy. :D

I was gonna post a link to the FZ1 site, but it looks like you've already joined us over there!
Congratulations! You're gonna love it!

The exhaust....do it first! Cause I don't know WHAT Yamaha was thinking when they put that hideous thing on there....:BLAA:

Yeah but for some reason the site is down.

Definitely exhaust first, that thing ways 12lbs! Just have to figure out which one, I do like the shorty style.

Get a fender kit on that asap! Holy cow that sticks way the heck out. That exhaust, what was Yammy thinking with that!?

Nonetheless, I'm jelly. Congrats and enjoy her. Somebody else bought her and turned her into a garage queen.

Very much like to mod. I think that's half the fun of owning a bike and was glad to find a unmolested one. I didn't know you could reflash the ECU. Is this something that Yamaha does? I've read the mapping wasn't so good for the 06/07. Will be changing the tires. The rubber is 7 years old!

Already looking for the fender eliminator. The original owner put 700 miles on her then the second owner has had it for 2 years and put 500 on it. Last year I put over 10,000 miles on my FZ6 so the FZ1 is in for a little surprise.

Congrats, the bike looks great. Like what was said for mods.

1. New tires - due to old age
2. Fender Eliminator
3. Slip-on Exhaust
4. And if you're feeling wild, go naked.

Best bang for the buck here, when it comes to pipes for FZ1:

Shop > Exhausts & Silencers

I've been using mine for over 10k miles now.. no issues. I have the tri-oval carbon (which is no longer available). It's almost exactly 10 pounds lighter than stock. Shorty will be even lighter.
