Did anyone notice the tire profile change due to extreme wear towards the end of the race? They developed horizontal shoulders where the rubber was totally gone. If you have access to watch the end of the race, look at Lorenzo's rear tire from a head on view. Insane how the tires were completely obliterated.

I know this thread was about Rossi and Stoner but I thought some of you may find this interesting. Here's Nicky's rear tire at the end of the race:

Now I know why some of the riders wanted a hard wet tire option. This is ridiculous. No wonder people were dropping like files.

While race fans will probably agree that "these things happen" - racing incidents and all - I also think that anyone who has watched a lot of racing, or has ridden a bike on a racetrack, will agree: you can't bring that Playstation sh*t in a WET RACE.

If you watch the slow motion replay, he hit a small puddle and that is when the front end tucked. What a shame that it happened as he stuffed Stoner into that turn.

If I were Stoner I'd be absolutely furious. I thought his comment about "more ambition than talent" was spot on, in this context. I also thought it was hilarious. Good for Rossi for apologizing at least.

And how about Spies? And Colin Edwards!! Last lap, my wife and I were watching and trying to figure out when he was last on the podium when he was shown crashed out (what happened? The Speed TV coverage in the U.S. didn't show Edwards' crash).

What a race! Very exciting at least.

Edwards' crash was a fairly straight forward one. It's just a shame that it came when he was looking like getting a podium.

As for Spies. I hope he didn't hurt his neck. or spine. If you have a look at his off, he sort of lands on his butt at one point and his helmet slams back onto the hump fairly hard, and the spine takes pretty much all the impact...ouch.

And I reckon Simoncelli's shoulder will be buzzing for a few days...another ouch.

Bugga! That explains how he was straight on just into the gravel. Looked like he'd run off. That's even worse. Missing out on a podium 'cause his bike died.

There should have been no problem getting Stoner going again, since his bike was basically surfing atop of the Ducati.
And considering how Rossi ended the race, Stoner would have had a good chance of getting some decent points.

Arthur Sissis....Was fast in testing too (fastest actually), is a young man on the rise, and he is an Aussie! Another Aussie for us Aussie's to cheer on the International scene this year...as he is doing the whole Red Bull Cup.
