Hey everyone,
My name is Logan and I’m a first time rider. Only had my license for 2 weeks and had the chance to get an 04 FZ6. Been wanting to ride since I was 14, now I’m 29. Better late than never. I’m excited to learn about this bike and to learn to improve my riding skills in general.

Welcome, that's a very clean bike for being 18 years old.

Some basic love and that will keep on going for a while yet

Hello from Hardy, Virginia. I'm a new FZ6 owner I purchased from my son who is headed overseas with the US Navy. My current garage has the FZ6, a Triumph Tiger 800 and a Piaggio Liberty 150. Looking forward to learning more about the FZ and thought this would be the place to start.

Welcome Flano. I acquired my FZ6 much the same way. A friend of my son was deploying and asked if I'd help him sell his FZ6. I said "no, I will not help, but I'll buy it so you don't have to worry about it". The bike sat in my garage for a year untouched...and then one day I decided it was either time to fix what I didn't like about it, or sell it. I'm glad I put some effort into it because it has become one of my favorite bikes of all time.

Hello from Hardy, Virginia

Welcome to the forum! You’re in the center of the best motorcycle roads in the East (in my humble opinion) but I’m sure you know that.

Will be doing a 4 day trip next weekend through the Shenandoah area and WV. Love the riding in VA/WV/NC!

It’s throwing code 1 which some people on here resolved back in 2012 by swapping the battery, I’m gonna try that today.
You should charge the battery and have it load tested. Then if it fails the test, replace it.
If you want, make a new thread on this so we don't hijack this thread.

Hi everyone,

My user name is Skelly, first name Ian and I am living in Cheshire in the UK. A few months back I bought a 2004 FZ6 from an old timer who sadly has become too old to ride (his decision not mine) he knows that I have a few bikes and have been riding for, well lets just say a long time.

Bike is pretty low mileage at 8000 miles and looks very clean and it rides really well, in fact it has been so good that I may sell one or two of my other bikes and buy a second FZ to use through the winter. So in my humble opinion, ride position very good along with comfort, brakes do the job ok, handling pretty good indeed, engine perky once it gets going, fuel consumption not too bad, clutch not as bad as people say it is, gear box goes through the gears cleanly but bloody hell it is clunky. All in all a great bike and I intend to put a full set of panniers and top box on it before the summer.

Hello everyone, I'm yzrfz6 and while it's not quite an FZ6 it turns out the 2001 R6 I bought is somewhat of a Frankenstein machine with an FZ6 engine (I'm not sure what year) running on R6 carbs. Gives me a bit of a headache as I spent more time fixing stuff on it instead of riding it but it's damn fun when she does run.
