St Louis area FZ6 owners

All black 2009 owner as of about 3 months ago. I have the "Vishnu Headlight Conversion Kit" on it. Live in Creve Coeur near 270 and Olive.
I think you're my doppelganger. Did you get passed by a black FZ6 in the fast lane at about 9:40 Wed night? I pulled off on Olive from 270 north, while you continued north on 270?

Haha. Nah, I don't think that was me, but I'm always riding around Olive, Page, 270, and 170 areas.

Ride of the Century is this Saturday and Sunday in STL. Who's going to ride with the street fighterz? Who's going to do their best to avoid it? I would love to see it, but am probably going to avoid it because I dont want to be hassled by police, etc...

Avoiding it like the plague.
IF you go, be aware that the stunters tend to fall down or knock you over. They have no regard for anyone but themselves.

I have to agree. And I used to stunt alot. Thing to me is there will be well over 3000 bikes there and unless you are in the first 100, which you also better be a well know badass stunted to be up that far you are playing a dangerous game. Past that you aren't prob going to see much and your chances of getting taken of by a squid trying his first wheelie or someone wrecking trying to watch said squid and taking you out with them are greatly increased.

Now if you alone or with a few buddies want to ride to the main gathering and watch the blocked off stunt show in the parking lot. That is guaranteed to be a amazing show and would def recommend that.

Yeah I'd consider checking out the gathering area where people stunt in a vacant lot and I want to see some all of the custom rides, but I won't be anywhere near that highway stuff.

Even if I were off work, I'd avoid it like the plague. Far too much stupidity and unpredictability for me. Hell, between the weather forecast and potential police profiling, I'm considering taking the car to work this weekend instead.

I'm going. Went last year with some friends and had a blast. It's definitely a sight to see if you've never been before. Some of us from STLRyderz.com are meeting at Hooters downtown around 11:30am on Sunday. Here's a link to the thread: ROC 2013

I wouldn't mind seeing it from a distance, don't want to get caught out in the mess though.

Hey Beth... I just got a new bike!! Went with an old man bike :) ... at least that's what my wife called it. I am not sure if I will keep the FZ6 or not. I would like too but I don't want to pay insurance on a second bike. Bad enough they sit 3 or four month with little use as it is. Wanted something more comfy for my wife and kids to ride with me. Its a 2009 v-star 1300, big and heavy but surprisingly easy to move around.

Hi, I'm new to St Louis and new to FZ6. I bought an 09 in blue from a guy by Jeff City in August and have been using it as a commuter and for enjoyment. I live in S. County, just moved there in July but lived in the metro east all my life. This is a great forum and its a great bike. I used to have a 1998 BMW about five years ago, but sold it to finish my daughter's college. Then my son bought a Nija this summer so I just had to buy one and get back into riding. The FZ6 has turned out to be the perfect bike for me, already put
7xxx mile on her.

Hello all,

Just sold my trusty 1978 cb750 and purchased a raven fz6. I'm digging the new tech so much I'm thinking about upgrading my 8-track collection to cassette. Baby steps.

Anyway, I'm near Godfrey, IL. I'm always looking for new, cool places to ride. Nice to meet you.

Thanks. And you are so right about this winter. There is no hell like a new (to me) motorcycle in the garage and no way to ride it.
