Jan 29 ride....Hwy 33 or ACH

Ah man that sucks...I'm out now...it's too far from me now. I don't have that much time to do a long ride and ride an 1 hour and 15 min to get there and then back again.

I too was up in Idy a couple weeks ago also visiting family. I saw a couple FZs...were any of them your guy's?

Might have been me, but I think I was up there last Monday.

Nice route! We'll have major monkey butt from that ride :D

I might be able to do part of the ride and cut out early!

I have other stuff going on this Sat so I won't be able to make this ride. Guys, please be careful going up the 243 from Banning. There is a lot of gravel/cinders everywhere and it would be catastrophic to run through any of it while cranking around a turn...

This is what I was saying earlier about going to Idyllwild. John, Dave and I were well below Idyllwild less than 2 weeks ago and there was plenty of gravel. Have to be extra alert/careful in that area.

Maybe we should avoid that area all together?

I'll do some research and call the CHP for road conditions. I will also call the Idyllwild cafe and ask the locals how the roads are.

I have a good idea on the conditions of the roads since I was there just over a week ago and I grew up there. When I was there a while back, the roads were mostly clear but some corners had quite a bit of gravel. Since a week and a half has passed, it should be more clear. The safest route will be to always stay where the car tires stay in the lane. (Which is smart anyways because you don't want to stay right on the yellow line especially on left turns nor near the white line...I don't know how many squids' heads I've almost seen taken off by cars because they rode the yellow line and stuck their heads a good foot or two into the oncoming traffic.)

Also what time are you leaving...if it's early enough, I might be able to tag along for a while. but we will have to see.

Be safe..and one of these days I will actually meet all y'all guys and go for a ride.

Goop,
You and I will meet up your way then ride up the 15 to the 15/76 meetup..
