    Drag strip

Vegasrider had a post a while back with an SV650 comparison: http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-general-discussion/13361-vegasrider-vs-sv650-lvms-dragstrip.html Dave

    HELP!..Swimming pool pump went out

This time of year, your pump should run 10-12 hours a day and do it in the daytime. Winter can be 6-8. But these run times are generic and also assume proper water chemistry. If I replaced it I would either go with Jandy or Pentair/Hayward. If you replaced it and like the idea of it running...

    Carrying a concealed weapon???

While I don't carry (or own) a firearm outside of the hunting type, what may make so many want one is the incredible slant to local media stories. In Houston, every week the local news tells stories of some poor convenience store clerk working the night shift getting killed over the $80 and a...

Do NOT leave the bugs on!

Down in southeast texas every fall we get millions of these black bugs that swarm highways. I mean thick as clouds. Here's what takes them off (of cars, anyway) A dryer sheet (Bounce, etc) Wet it, and wet the front of the car and rub very lightly. Takes off ALL bug residue...

    Saturn/Opel Astra

I drive a Saturn Ion (2007), the last run of the Ion before this car replaced it. It's been a reliable car (had it for 2 yrs) and the only time I had to take it to the dealer was hassle-free. Fit and finish leaves much to be desired (a lot of the interior just feels "cheap") and as someone...

    Why you need another forum?

I joined an antique tractor forum for farmall cubs after I had already bought one. The lesson learned was that had I got on it before I bought it I would have been much more prepared knowing what to look for during the buying process. (I'll call that my excuse for being on here without a...

    Texas.

I live on the northwest fringe of Houston, Humble is on the northeast fringe. The advantage being that you're close enough to enjoy Houston's amenities and are 5 minutes away from a rural road to enjoy. I grew up in Texas and left and have been back here about 4 years. I'll agree with a lot...

    No Helmet

So the closer I get to getting a bike the more time I spend browsing the internet for good gear when the time is right. The other night my wife scoffs and says, "the gear Harley riders wear looks sooooo much cooler than this stuff. The helmets, chaps, vests, all look better." (her dad rides a...

    siphoning gas

Condensation(water) from the air above the gas is what causes the rust. All depends on your experience, but I've never had problems with old gas or rusty tanks with equipment. Sealers like Red Kote are a waste of time/$$$ IMHO as well

How do I get a broken screw out?

Let me preface this by saying I don't own a bike yet. :spank: But I've removed more than my share of bolts that have been in place for 50+ years on old machinery and while I'm not a fan of the EZ-outs (in the pic above), they will get it done if it's all you have. Now if one snaps...

First ride: The return of the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion (FZ6R)

Man I hate to hear it!!!!! I'm still a year or so away from getting my first bike (which probably wouldn't be the FZ) and then another year or so until I upgraded to the FZ. Well, if they make the FZ like they make these then maybe I can buy a junker and get it restored: ;) It was...

    For those in the military...

3 years Army (96-99) Combat Tanker (sign on bonus, go figure) Least intellectually stimulating job I've ever held Never stationed anywhere except Kansas (would've gone to more places but tanks are only at select posts) My brother went into the Air Force and seemed like they treated him...

How did you find the site.

Google search. FZ6 [something]... Don't have a bike (yet) but wanted to get thoughts of those riding the FZ6. Needed to join the forum to see images posted in threads; will be sticking around and (hopefully) be riding one day...

Who else owns a firearm or more?

Is there another 120mm gun around or are you talking about tanks? I spent 3 years on them ('96-'99). We got MINIMAL hand to hand combat instruction and basic small arms training. Our drill sgt. told us if they managed to get around all the guns on the tank and we had to duke it out with them...

    Any digital camera gurus here?

Not a digital camera guru, but two things top my list: 1) Batteries: do you want to replace batteries or have a battery pack?; and 2) Do I have to install any junky software to use it? I refuse to use anything that the camera maker thinks will dramatically enhance my picture viewing experience...

    New member welcome thread..

I live on the northern fringe of Houston, no bike yet... but when it happens it'll be an FZ6. I'm just spending time soaking up bits of wisdom from you guys until then! We've got two little kids, I work for a swimming pool company, went to school for landscape architecture, and did a 3-yr...
