new here, I got an 04 r6 but im thinking of selling it for an fz6. The r6 is a little too aggressive for commuting and I like the fact that this can still take on the twistys if I want.

He there everyone. I have owned an orange/black Fz6n for about 1 year now. It's fairly standard, I've just got a set of Micron Slip On Pipes. Love the bike even with all the so called issues I keep hearing from bike mags etc. I live in Tasmania which for those who don't know is state off the mainland of Australia. Hope to chat to you all soon!!

My fast red 2006 FZ6 is a commuter bike which goes faster than my 2 old ARIEL's (1948) but not as fast as my 2006 TRIUMPH SPRINT ST,but is lots of fun to ride around town

My name is Andy, I live in Pinehurst, North Carolina (where they play the U.S. Open from time to time). I have a red 07 that's my first bike and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm a computer drafter/designer for a civil engineering firm. As well as a first time dad, my little girl will be 14 months on May 4th.

Hello all.
I got my (new) 2007 Red FZ6 about a month ago and joined the Forum shortly after. I recently noticed this “New Members Welcome” thread, so here goes.
I don’t know why I bought a new FZ6. What I mean is, I know why I bought the FZ6, but I don’t know why I felt the need to buy a new motorcycle. I have a 1981 Kawasaki GPz 550, purchased new in 1981, which has _very_ low miles. It sat un-ridden in the garage from September 1990 through 2004. I got it running again in early 2005 (cost about $1,000 to do so.) But in the 3 years since then, I think I only rode it about 400 miles. So I don’t know why early this year I started thinking that maybe it was time for a new bike. After looking at the current offerings from various manufacturers, it became apparent very quickly that the FZ6 was the best choice for me. While my old Kawasaki still runs well, the FZ6 most certainly feels 26 years more advanced in technology. (In constant dollars, the FZ6 cost about the same as the 550, so as I see it I got all those advancements for free!) I like the FZ6 more and more every time I ride it.
Best regards to all,
Jeff

whats going on people...Just bought a Steady Reddy 06 with 2km on it. Still havent got my license but am currently working on it. Ripped around the neighborhood and it seems like this might just be fun. Living in Cloverdale BC Canada, near Vancouver and hoping to get on the road soon. Im putting $90 bucks a week in my 05 nissan frontier to get to work so Im hoping my fuel cost go down abit ;) Love this site. Lots of good ideas. Alrerady did the headlight mod. Chromed the radiator grills and the little aluminum inserts that are by the footpegs. I have a shiny-object-syndrome:) Anyways I hope to get a LowerMainland meet going once Im roadworthy.. Have my learners but need an escort and I have to stay below 60 kmh..nice. About me, Im a 35 years young with no kids(next year maybe?) 2 jobs and not alot of spare time. Sound familiar? Hope my time here is a good one. Take it easy and see you out there.

Hi all!

I'm Kevin from Seattle, and I'm very glad I came across this site, as it helped me make up my mind, and buy the bike I've been drooling over... Just picked up a red '07 FZ6 and couldn't be any happier!

Thanks for all the terrific input, and great insight!

Hello everyone. My name is Greg and I live in Southern California. I am a new owner of a 2006 FZ6 as well as a new rider all together. I am having more fun with my new ride than I ever imagined. It's everything I thought it would be and more. Getting all of my cool safety gear has been a blast too. Expensive, but a blast none the less. I would like to hear from other SoCal riders and/or groups in my area. Glad to be aboard!

Hi guys I'm Jason, I live in Northern Illinois. Just picked up my 2007 FZ6, Love the bike. I bought it used with 640 miles on it. I think I got a pretty good deal I paid $5395+TT&L, the bike is under warranty till september and the dealer sold me a 4 year extended warranty for $390. Put 100 miles on it today.... so lets do the math I figure I saved $17 in gas vs driving my Titan, so all I have to do is ride 10 times a month and the bike pays for itself.... can someone come over and explain that to my wife?

welcome to the forum jeff! since you have two bikes which cost the same, minus the cost of getting the suzuki running again, can you post up a photo of your beautiful orignal 550? it would be great to see what such a lovely one owner machine looks like. best of luck, welcome to the forum!
