SoCal "Hoonapalooza" June 22 2013

If the group is large enough like the last big ACH ride we did, It would be a great idea to get some dayglo vests like Cali rider did the last time so we can have a better visual of the front rider and last rider. This will help keep us on the move sooner at turns. I have a dayglo green safety vest. :)

I will bring them again. In addition, it seems that many of us are using the Sena communicator system so keeping things tight should not be any problem. We should perform the usual pre-ride meeting/discussion so all participants know what to expect.

I would suggest that everyone carry a piece of paper or card in their wallet containing an emergency contact and any special health considerations. Don't have this in your phone, if it gets damaged in a crash or is password locked, there will be no way to access this data when it is needed the most.

Excellent suggestions as usual!

Hey, I can do that, we can figure out a meeting place on Sat.

Jerry

O.K. So talked to Cali rider this afternoon and the plan for Sunday morning is to ride back north through Ojai with Cali and possibly his passenger. I know Jerry expressed interest in tagging along...any one else up for escorting me to the "county line" on Sunday? We can discuss a meet up point when we get together Saturday. Maybe Mark can make it Sunday..

I'm still working on a breakout plan, am shooting to be #10 "Hoonapalooza" member. I have to consult my astrologist for clarification ;). If riding, the 76/15 launch pad is in convenient crash range (day ride from Sacto) to my brother's in Carlsbad. :Flash:

Make sure you ask Cali rider about the tar snakes we encountered in Utah last year when it was 115º out... That was fun! :jawdrop:

Tar snakes are lots of fun when they are hot and slippery, NOT!!!!
My son and I encountered a whole lane of them, we had to ride on the opposing lane to keep from sliding around, good thing there was no traffic:rolleyes:

Thanks Cloggy! I was in France last month on business and the weather sucked. I hear Spring didn't happen there this year :)

Carlsbad is just few miles away from my town.
See you soon!

Geez, Wavex, weeks between trips to France? I'd be tempted to not bother even unpacking. :Flash: Speaking of weather, I wonder what's in store for June 22 in SoCal. Hope it's perfect (light breeze, high 90's, no wildfires, sunny and clear).

I'm Just about ready to go. Did my front brake pads today. I put some HH EBCs on and even though I'm far from the bedding recommendation they are already far and above the OEM pads I had.

Lube the chain and check lights and tire pressure and it's on!!! :D

I think I saw that movie with Matthew Broderick.:D TBH (to be honest)---Confirmation: it's hinging on possible late, bad timing situation that I'm hoping won't pop up. If, on late Thursday, Houston says "all systems GO," break of dawn Friday, I put on my helmet, get on/off boring I5 and do Hollister McDonalds, 25/33, then get back on I5 over the Grapevine, and to Carlsbad. You?
